How to choose your Honors courses?

Choosing honors can be a very intriguing task for a student when it comes to decide professionally, Honours differs from other undergraduate courses in that it requires a much higher degree of independent thinking, planning and activity. Honours provide you with extra preparation for independent work and research, and are an opportunity to develop and demonstrate important skills that are in high demand by employers. In particular, successful completion of Honours indicates to a prospective employer that you are able to think independently and critically, manage a project, solve problems and communicate effectively

The child generally goes as per his choice but some steps can be followed

  • Choose a topic.
  • Read widely in the fields that interest you. Make a habit of browsing professional journals to survey the “hot” areas of research and to familiarize yourself with your field’s stylistic conventions.
  • Set up appointments to talk with faculty in your field. Look at honors theses from the past.
  • Brainstorm ideas with tutors affiliated with the Honors Writing Program for Writing and Speaking.
  • Find a project that is realistic for you to complete within the time allocated for your research and dissertation.
  • Familiarise yourself with the details of the Honours programme in your department: structure of the programme, assessment criteria, rules and regulations, important dates and so on.

The following are the sites where the students can visit and find the different fields and their honor subjects
